In this role, you will work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. As an Associate Application Consultant at IBM you will help us usher clients into a new age of future-looking technology. You will be assisting clients in the selection, implementation, and support of applications, methodology, and tools. You will advise clients on application development methodology and tools, and perform as expert on application development for existing or new applications. In this role you will also help guide and teach clients' project members.

This position will be based within the Hybrid Cloud & Data service line.

• Majors: Computer Science, MIS/IT, Computer Engineering, Data Science, SW Engineering, or related fields

• Certifications: Microsoft Fundamentals (Azure, Data or AI); Associate, Professional, or Specialty (Aspirational) in-progress certifications are fine
• Experience: Cloud native projects (academic, personal, or internship count); Agile ways of working (ambiguous requirements, evolving scope); Programming (read, debug, and explain code)
• Skills/Tech: Programming fundamentals (.NET/ASP.NET, C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.); SQL Basics; networking basics, Terraform/CloudFormation, Linux fundamentals
• Familiarity with Microservices architect and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Passionate about use of AI technology for business advancement; and enjoys experiential learning

Ability to think laterally and consider multiple solution options for a given problem

Technical understanding of modern software development patterns

Experience using tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar AI assistants to research, write, analyze, and improve productivity, while applying critical thinking and validation.
